Insurance sales training for the conversation nobody wants to start.
Protection is sold in a conversation most people would rather skip — about illness, income, and what happens to the family. Your adviser gets one attempt at it. Kollup lets them have it fifty times first, against an AI client who deflects, delays, says they’re covered through work, and asks the price before you’ve asked anything at all.

Product training isn’t the gap. The conversation is.
Your advisers can recite the cover levels and the exclusions — they passed the exam. What goes wrong is human: a fact-find that stops one question too early, the three seconds of silence after the premium, the third time a client says they’ll think about it. Those aren’t knowledge problems, and a slide deck can’t fix them. They’re rehearsal problems, and most teams rehearse on real families.
Scored on its own, because a thin needs conversation is usually why the recommendation gets refused two weeks later.
What an adviser does in the three seconds after saying the monthly premium is a skill. It can be practised until it stops being a flinch.
Objections come back two or three times. Staying warm on the third one is the difference between an adviser who converts and one who apologises.
The two calls that decide the year.
You describe the client. Kollup becomes them — the deflection, the price question asked too early, the partner who “handles that sort of thing”.
The needs conversation
A referral, a mortgage lead, a bancassurance appointment. The adviser has to earn the right to ask personal questions before anyone will answer them — and get to a recommendation the client actually understands.
- “I’m covered through work”
- “I’m too young for this”
- “I can’t afford another bill”
- “I need to speak to my wife”
- “Just email me a quote”
The call after the premium went up
An existing client, a higher number, and a policy nobody has explained since the day it was sold. Handled well it’s a review and an upsell. Handled badly it’s a cancellation and a comparison site.
- “My premium went up again”
- “I’ve never claimed once”
- “I found it cheaper online”
- “What am I actually paying for?”
- “Cancel the direct debit”
Practice that leaves an audit trail.
Under the Insurance Distribution Directive, everyone involved in distributing insurance in the EU must complete at least 15 hours of professional training a year, and the firm has to be able to show it. Most of that gets filled with e-learning modules people click through at their desks. Rehearsing an actual client conversation is worth more — and it produces better evidence.
- Every attempt is dated and scored. Who practised, which scenario, how long it ran, what they scored across four criteria, and the full transcript of what was actually said.
- Score the process, not just the sale. The focus-areas field tells Kollup what matters — so a scenario can weight whether the adviser established demands and needs before recommending anything, rather than whether they closed.
- Evidence per adviser, not per class. Reports sit against the individual, so a supervisor can show what one person practised and how they improved — the thing a file review actually asks for.
- Share it as a link or a PDF. Into a one-to-one, a supervision file, or a pack for your compliance function.
Kollup is a training tool, not a CPD accreditation body. What counts toward your hours, and how you record it, stays your firm’s decision — we give you a dated, scored record of the practice that happened.
Protection — covered at work
E. Georgiou · attempt 4 of 6 · 9 min 24 s · Greek
Strong fact-find — you got the mortgage balance and the school fees before mentioning a product. Then he said “I’ll talk to my wife” and you offered to call back. Ask what she’d want to know, and you leave with something to answer.
Three steps. That’s the whole product.

1
Write the client
A 38-year-old with a new mortgage who thinks death in service is enough. A retiring couple reviewing health cover. Set what they’ll worry about, what they’ll deflect with, the language they speak — then assign the scenario to one adviser, a branch, or the whole agency.

The adviser runs the call
They hit Start call and a real voice picks up — one that stays in character, gets uncomfortable at the personal questions, and ends the call if the adviser pushes. No colleague to roleplay with, no scheduling. Prefer to type? Text mode scores the same way.

The report lands
Seconds after hanging up: an overall score, four sub-scores, what they did well and the one thing to change — quoting the client’s words and their own. It goes in the adviser’s record, and into your next one-to-one.

Nobody discusses dying in their second language.
Protection conversations get personal, and people retreat into their mother tongue to have them. If your advisers sell to expat, migrant or cross-border communities, they need to practise in the language the client will actually switch into. Kollup runs practice calls, Live Assist and coaching reports in 28+ languages — with reports back in one language for the whole company, so a sales manager can review a call they couldn’t have taken themselves.

The AI client is cast to the community your advisers actually serve, not to a textbook voice. Tell us which books you write and we set the voices up with you.
Live subtitles during voice practice — useful for an adviser who is fluent enough to sell but not yet confident enough to sell something this personal.
Feedback follows the call’s language, or stays in one language company-wide, so supervision doesn’t stop at the language barrier.
Non-disclosure. Explain the underwriting questions plainly and why answering them fully protects him — then walk through the health questions with him rather than sending the form.
And when it’s a real client across the desk.
Practice builds the habit. Live Assist is there for the appointment that counts — listening along and suggesting the next move while the conversation is still happening.
- Grounded in your own products — you build a knowledge base once: cover levels, exclusions, waiting periods, underwriting limits, and the approved answer to every objection your advisers hear weekly.
- Ask it mid-conversation — “what’s the waiting period on the critical illness rider?” is answered on screen, silently, instead of a promise to check and call back.
- A report afterwards too — what the client objected to, how the appointment ended, talk ratio, interruptions.
- Kollup keeps no recordings. Audio is transcribed as it happens and discarded — only text is stored, inside your own account.
Seats and minutes. That’s the whole model.
Every plan has the whole product — voice, text, Live Assist, 28+ languages, unlimited scenarios, coaching reports. What changes is how many advisers are on it and how much practice each one gets. Same plans as the rest of Kollup.
How many advisers
One seat per person, so the training record belongs to a named individual. Reassign a seat when someone leaves — you’re paying for the chair, not the name on it.
How much practice
A monthly pool of minutes shared across the team. A new adviser in their first quarter uses more; an experienced one dips in before a difficult review. Need more in a recruitment month? Email us and we add them to your invoice.
So let’s work out what your team actually needs
Tell us how many advisers you have, what they sell and how often you want them practising, and we’ll tell you what it costs — including if Kollup isn’t the right fit for you yet.

What insurers ask on the demo
Is this only for life and protection?
That’s where it fits best, because those calls live or die on the needs conversation — which is exactly what the scoring is built around. It works just as well for health, income protection and bancassurance appointments, and for motor and home reviews where there’s a genuine conversation rather than a quote read out loud.
Pure price-comparison order-taking isn’t worth training this way, and we’d rather say so.
Can advisers rehearse the fact-find specifically?
Yes, and it’s the most common way teams use it. Discovery is one of the four scores, so an adviser sees a number for how well they explored the client’s situation, separate from whether they closed. Write a client who volunteers nothing until they’re asked properly, and the score stops being flattering very quickly.
The focus-areas field lets you go further — tell Kollup that establishing demands and needs before recommending is what matters in that scenario, and the scoring weights toward it.
Does practice count toward our IDD training hours?
That’s your firm’s call, not ours. What we give you is the evidence: every attempt produces a dated record showing who practised, which scenario, how long it lasted, the four scores and the full transcript — attached to a named individual, exportable as a link or a PDF.
Firms that treat structured rehearsal as part of the 15 hours find that far easier to defend than a click-through module, but Kollup isn’t a CPD accreditation body and we don’t pretend to be one.
Can it use our products, exclusions and underwriting rules?
Yes — that’s the company knowledge base. Cover levels, exclusions, waiting periods, underwriting limits, what advisers may and may not say, and the approved response to each objection. Paste your product page and Kollup drafts the first version for you to edit. Scenarios and Live Assist both draw on it, so the AI client argues about your actual policy rather than a generic one.
Which languages can our advisers practise in?
28+, including Greek, German, Polish, Romanian, Turkish, Russian, Arabic and Hindi. The language is set per scenario, so an agency selling into several communities can rehearse each one properly. Reports can come back in one language for the whole company, so a sales manager can review a call in a language they don’t speak.
What happens to our call recordings?
Kollup doesn’t keep recordings. Audio is transcribed as it’s spoken and discarded — we store only the text, inside your own company’s space, never visible to another customer. Every account is isolated at the database level, so one insurer can never see another’s scenarios, calls or reports.
Do we have to integrate it with our CRM or policy system?
No. Kollup runs in the browser and practice happens inside it — an adviser clicks a link, allows the microphone once, and they’re in a conversation. Nothing to deploy, no IT project, no data flowing out of your policy system. That’s usually what makes it possible to trial with one branch without a procurement cycle.
Do you work with insurers outside Cyprus?
Yes. We’re based in Limassol and happy to come in person when it’s close enough to be worth it, but the product runs in the browser and onboarding happens on a call — so an agency network in Athens, Warsaw or Dubai is set up exactly the same way.
Bring us your hardest objection
Thirty minutes, no slide deck. Tell us the sentence that stops your advisers dead — “I’m covered through work”, “I’ll talk to my wife”, “my sister got refused” — and we’ll build that client live and run the call on the spot. If it isn’t convincing, you’ll know inside five minutes.
