For pharma, medical device & lab sales teams

Medical sales training that makes every three minutes with a doctor count.

Your reps get a few minutes between patients, a clinician who has heard every pitch, and strict rules about what they may say. Kollup lets every medical sales representative rehearse the detail, the objection and the follow-up against an AI doctor, pharmacist or hospital buyer who pushes back like a real one — built from your approved materials, with a scored report after every call.

The problem

Less time with doctors. More rules about every word.

In many markets, time with healthcare professionals is harder to get and shorter when you get it. A new rep has to learn the science, the approved messages, the competitor landscape and the code of practice — then gets one chance with a consultant who has no patience for a scripted pitch. Most medical sales representative training is classroom modules and a few ride-alongs a year; the rest is learned in front of customers.

Every visit

In person, by phone or by video. Reps rehearse the conversation before the appointment, not after it goes wrong.

Every role

GPs, specialists, nurses, pharmacists, practice managers, procurement and lab directors — each with their own priorities.

Every launch

New indication, new data, new competitor. Update the scenario once and the whole field force practises the new message that week.

Pharma · devices · diagnostics

Three kinds of medical sales. Three very different customers.

A GP choosing a treatment, a surgeon attached to a familiar system and a clinic manager choosing a lab want different things — and each conversation has its own evidence, its own buyers and its own rules.

Pharmaceuticals

The detail, the evidence and the follow-up

Pharmaceutical sales training for the conversations that shape prescribing: the short detail to a GP, the evidence discussion with a specialist and the formulary conversation with a hospital pharmacist.

  • “My patients are stable”
  • “Where’s the head-to-head data?”
  • “Is it reimbursed?”
  • “The generic is cheaper”
Medical devices

Clinicians, nurses and procurement

Medical device sales training for a sale with several buyers: the surgeon who likes the current system, the nurses who would have to learn yours, and the procurement team with a tender and a contract.

  • “We’re locked into a contract”
  • “Our nurses know the current system”
  • “What’s the cost per procedure?”
  • “Procurement decides, not me”
Laboratory & diagnostics

Tests, turnaround and service

Selling laboratory services and diagnostics to clinics and hospitals: turnaround times, sample logistics, accreditation, and why a practice should move its tests from the lab it has used for years.

  • “We already use another lab”
  • “What’s your turnaround time?”
  • “Who collects the samples?”
  • “Are you accredited?”
Compliance built in

Practise the message and the rules together.

EU law already expects it: medical sales representatives must be adequately trained, with enough scientific knowledge to give information that is “precise and as complete as possible” (Directive 2001/83/EC, Article 93). Most pharma compliance training is an annual e-learning module. The practice call is where the rules get tested under pressure.

  • Built from your approved materials. Key messages, product information, approved claims and competitor positioning go into the scenario — so reps practise what they’re allowed to say, and your reviewers can sign off the scenario like any other training material.
  • Customers who test the line. Build the specialist who asks about an unlicensed use, the doctor who asks for something your code of practice doesn’t allow, and the buyer who wants a claim you can’t make — and see who holds the line.
  • Adverse events recognised. Reps must pass on side effects they hear about. Build a doctor who mentions one in passing, and the report shows whether the rep noticed it and followed your reporting process.
  • Weighted into the score. The focus-areas field shifts the weighting per scenario, so staying on-label can count as much as a well-handled objection — and the report quotes the exact sentence where it slipped.
How it works

Three steps. That’s the whole product.

  1. 1

    Build the healthcare professional

Pick the customer your reps meet most — the GP loyal to current treatment, the surgeon who likes the old system, the clinic manager happy with their lab. Add your approved messages and product information, set specialty, habits, objections, language and voice, then assign it.

Sales or training manager · 5 minutes
  2. 2

    The rep runs the call

In the browser, the evening before a visit or in the car park before walking in. A real voice picks up, stays in character, runs short on time and ends the conversation if the rep reads a script at it.

Rep · until the doctor ends it
  3. 3

    The report lands

Seconds later: an overall score, four sub-scores, what they did well and the one thing to change — quoting their own words. The manager coaches without waiting for the next ride-along.

    Automatic · instant
Beyond the single visit

Remote calls and key accounts need practice too.

More contact with healthcare professionals now happens by phone and video, and hospital decisions involve more people than any one visit reaches. Both are conversations reps rarely get to rehearse.

Remote engagement

Phone and video calls with HCPs

Getting past the practice manager, earning a second call, and keeping a busy clinician engaged without a detail aid on the table. Kollup is a voice role-play, so remote calls are exactly what it practises.

  • “The doctor doesn’t see reps”
  • “Just email the information”
  • “You’ve got two minutes”
Key account management

Pharmacists, procurement and committees

Build each stakeholder in a hospital account — the pharmacist preparing a formulary submission, the procurement lead comparing tenders, the department head with a budget — and let key account managers rehearse the meeting before they walk in.

  • “What’s the budget impact?”
  • “We need real-world data”
  • “It’ll go out to tender”
Regional teams

One brand, many markets, one way of coaching.

Regional and distributor teams detail the same product in different languages, and the manager reviewing them rarely speaks all of them. Kollup runs practice calls, Live Assist and coaching reports in 28+ languages, and every report can come back in English, so a regional manager can coach a call held in Greek, Polish or Arabic.

Kollup Live Assist

And on the calls that count.

Practice builds the habit. On remote calls, Live Assist listens along and suggests the next move — and the approved wording — while the conversation is still happening.

  • Grounded in your approved materials — you build a knowledge base once: product information, key messages, reimbursement status, what reps may and may not discuss, and when to refer a question to Medical Information.
  • Ask it mid-call — “is it reimbursed for this indication?” is answered on screen, silently, from your own knowledge base instead of from memory.
  • A report afterwards too — topics raised, how the call ended, talk ratio, interruptions.
  • Kollup keeps no recordings. Audio is transcribed as it happens and discarded — only text is stored, inside your own account. Use it on real calls in line with your own data protection and compliance policies.
Pricing

Seats and minutes. That’s the whole model.

Every plan has the whole product — voice, text, Live Assist, 28+ languages, unlimited scenarios, coaching reports. What changes is how many reps are on it and how much practice each one gets. Same plans as the rest of Kollup.

1

How many reps

One seat per person — field reps, key account managers, remote engagement teams. When a territory changes hands, reassign the seat that day; you pay for the chair, not the name on it.

2

How much practice

A monthly pool of minutes shared across the team. A launch month or a new starter cohort uses plenty; an established team between launches uses little. Planning a launch? Email us and we add minutes to that month’s invoice.

Questions

What medical sales teams ask on the demo

What should medical sales training cover?

Four things at once: the science and product information, the customer’s world (their patients, budgets and decision process), objection handling, and the rules — staying within approved claims, handling unsolicited questions correctly and reporting adverse events.

Most medical sales training covers those in separate modules. What it usually lacks is practice that combines them in a real conversation, under time pressure, with a customer who pushes back. That’s the part Kollup handles.

Our reps meet doctors in person. Does a voice role-play help?

Yes. What decides a visit is the conversation — the opening question, the key message, the answer to the objection, the agreed next step — and that works as a spoken practice call. Reps can rehearse the night before a visit or just before walking in. For phone and video engagement, it’s practice in exactly the format they’ll use.

Can scenarios be built from our approved materials?

Yes, and they should be. Put your approved key messages, product information and competitor positioning into the scenario. The AI plays the healthcare professional — their questions, habits and objections — while the facts your reps are scored against come from what you provide. We recommend your medical or regulatory reviewers sign off each scenario, as they would any training material.

Can it support pharma compliance training?

It adds the part compliance modules can’t: practice under pressure. Build customers who ask about unlicensed uses, request something your code of practice doesn’t allow, or mention a side effect in passing, and weight those moments in the scoring. The report shows exactly what the rep said.

Kollup is a training tool, not a compliance system — your compliance and medical teams still own the rules and the approval of materials.

Does it work for medical device sales training?

Yes. Device sales involve several buyers, so build each one: the clinician who prefers the current system, the nurse lead worried about training time, the procurement manager comparing cost per procedure, the department head with a budget. Reps practise each conversation with claims that stay within the device’s intended purpose.

Can laboratory and diagnostics sales teams use it?

Yes. Build the clinic manager loyal to their current lab, the GP who cares about turnaround times and the hospital buyer who asks about accreditation and sample logistics. Reps practise explaining your service clearly and handling the switch-over worries that stall most lab deals.

Can reps use Live Assist on real calls with healthcare professionals?

On remote calls, yes — in line with your company’s data protection and compliance policies, including letting the healthcare professional know and keeping identifiable patient information out of the conversation. Kollup keeps no recordings: audio is transcribed and discarded, and only text is stored inside your own account, isolated from every other customer.

Do we need to integrate with our CRM?

No. Kollup runs in the browser and practice calls happen inside it — a rep clicks a link, allows the microphone once, and they’re on a call. Nothing to install and nothing to integrate before you can trial it with one team or one launch.

Which languages can reps practise in?

28+, including Greek, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Turkish, Russian and Arabic. The language is set per scenario, and reports can come back in one language for the whole region, so a regional manager can coach calls in languages they don’t speak.

Do you work with companies outside Cyprus?

Yes. We’re based in Limassol, but Kollup runs in the browser and onboarding happens on a call, so where your team is makes no difference to how it’s set up.

Bring us the doctor your reps find hardest

Thirty minutes, no slide deck. Tell us what you sell and the customer conversation your reps struggle with — we’ll build that healthcare professional live and run it on the spot. If it isn’t convincing, you’ll know inside five minutes.
